Find your Anchor Point for Timestamps

video editing May 13, 2023

Definitely listen to spaces and and attend daily shows where they start at the same time.

Just know sometimes things take an extra few minutes before the space starts, and that will impact your Timestamps.

"  Okay, so say you're watching a Twitter space live and you think that it started at 7:00 PM and you're watching this thing, and at 13 minutes into it at seven 13, somebody says something amazing. You take a little screenshot or a timestamp, you write it in your notes.

At seven 13, this was said, this is the person that said it. This is what it was about. Whatever, right? And then you go forward and, uh, another few minutes later you find another awesome moment and you just keep timestamping and you go through all the way through.

Well, at the end of that, you're gonna have a list of timestamps and they're gonna say, what exact time was shown on the clock at that moment? Timestamped each of those moments, here's the thing that you might not be taking into consideration.

What if the space started three minutes early? What if, instead of starting at 7:00 PM it actually started at 6:57 PM If that's the case, there's going to be an anchor point. That anchor point is gonna be the time that you think it started, like seven minus x amount of minutes.

Or maybe it started late. Maybe it started at 7 0 2. In that case, it's gonna be the time that you think it started, plus two minutes. So you're gonna have to go through all of your timestamps and add two minutes. Take this into consideration.

Your timestamps are gonna be a little bit ambiguous. Go through, find the exact anchor point and apply that to every single timestamp that you have. And then you're gonna actually have some really cool stuff that you can put out there.

You'll know exactly where it was at. You have all these clips. We make lots of different short form content or make a good compilation for some long form content. Either way, find your anchor points. That's the tip for the day. I'll see you tomorrow with another one."

That's a great tip for capturing specific moments in a Twitter Space. Taking into account the potential discrepancy in the start time is important when timestamping the moments.

By identifying the anchor point, the time you believe the space started, you can adjust all subsequent timestamps accordingly.

This ensures that your timestamps accurately reflect the moments in the space and allows you to create engaging content with the collected clips. Good luck with your content creation, and I'll be back tomorrow with another tip!
