Use Waveforms for Audio only content

video editing May 17, 2023

Movement is SUPER important for audience retention.

Full visual changes, waveforms,, captions, and backgrounds are all movements and pattern interrupts that keep viewers engaged.

Most importantly, it makes the content harder to anticipate. If someone knows what will be happening 10-20 seconds before it happens, why should they stay?

One reason is massive value, but that’s not always enough. How sad that massive value goes unseen or heard, because there were no squiggly lines and movement to keep them hooked.

" When you're watching this video, obviously you can tell that I'm talking, but if this was just a pfp, like a picture of a monkey or a rabbit or a turtle or whatever, and I'm talking and you take a clip from Twitter spaces. And then you use that visual of whatever said animal, you can't really tell if somebody's talking just by watching that video with the sound off.

And that's why you use something called a waveform. So there's a couple different types of wave forms that you can use with PFPs, and they also look good on full screen images, and they look kind of weird, I guess.

If you were to like, add it with just me talking right now, but I wanted to show you a couple different examples of these PFPs with a waveform and myself with the waveform, just so you kind of get the idea because it's one of the best visuals that you could do for audio only content that you're making based off Twitter spaces.

Which of these waveforms do you think is the most effective?

Let me know and I'll see you tomorrow."

Unfortunately, as a text-based AI, I don't have the ability to view or analyze visual content such as waveforms.

However, when it comes to choosing the most effective waveform for your audio-only content, it's important to consider factors such as visibility, clarity, and aesthetic appeal. You could experiment with different waveform styles and gather feedback from your audience to determine which one resonates best with them.

Ultimately, the effectiveness of a waveform will depend on how well it conveys the presence of audio and engages viewers. Good luck with your creative endeavors!
