Batch Record

Feb 22, 2023

Yesterday I woke up sick and spent most of the day in bed. I was damn sure not gonna go record myself feeling like that.

Wouldn't have mattered had I batch recorded. I could have edited in bed.
OR I could have batch recorded AND edited a whole group of videos and be prepared 7 days in advance!

Personally for me, I like to do certain tasks every day, using my creativity from THAT day, and not be locked into a predetermined plan.

However, I don't suggest that for most, since it's so hard to stay consistent with content as it is.

Batching is the best solution for most.

"β€Šβ€ŠHey, I didn't post last night. Let me tell you why. Now, I was planning on shooting more about this little rig and actually about this special little wire that I'll tell you about later. But instead of shooting a bunch of videos in a row, I figured I'd just do one the next day, but I got sick. One of the hardest things about content and creation is consistency.

I'm super spontaneous with my videos, so I don't usually have to plan way ahead in advanced, but it does help to batch record. If you have a place with a camera that's always set up where. You're gonna be working, then you could just sit and record a bunch of videos back to back to back, so that those are ready in case you ever need 'em.

Or in the case of something like this, where I was shooting a little video about the magnet, now I'm gonna do one about this road mic and then the little lens. I have all these different videos to shoot and I don't have to do them. Separately, I can shoot 'em all at one time. Now the downside to this is that you might be wearing the same clothes in five or six videos, but who cares if the content is good and it's valuable to somebody.

It doesn't matter what you're wearing, cuz it's not about you, it's about the person that's watching and what they get out of your content. So I'm gonna take my own advice, shoot a few videos of those and you'll see the first one tonight because I batch reported today."

Consistency in content creation is indeed important, and it's great to see that you recognize its value. Batch recording can be a helpful strategy to ensure you have a consistent flow of content ready to publish. By dedicating a specific time to record multiple videos in one sitting, you can save time and have a backlog of content to rely on when unexpected circumstances arise.

Wearing the same clothes in consecutive videos may not matter as much as the quality and value of the content itself. Your viewers are more interested in the information and insights you share than the outfit you're wearing. So, focus on delivering valuable content, and the attire becomes secondary.

I'm glad to hear that you'll be batch recording and sharing the first video tonight. Consistency combined with valuable content will help engage and retain your audience. Best of luck with your recording sessions, and I look forward to seeing your videos!
