Ever hate a video you’ve posted to Twitter because the first frame looks bad in the preview? Ad Tools are dope, and free, and i use them to update thumbnails.
"I went to a badass party in New York for NFT NYC and the Lazy Lions through a dope party. I filmed it and made an awesome video, and this is the thumbnail to let you know that that party was awesome. It's not a great thumbnail. So I'm gonna update it. So I'm gonna show you something. I'm gonna switch over to Twitter right now.
So we've got Gina in there. We got John, we got J Chains. All these people in here. I wanna make this a way better thumbnail, but how are you supposed to do that? Because I already posted it. Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna go to our profile, and then if you look down at where it says professional tools, you can click the thing that says Twitter ads, and then I'm gonna click in the top right corner.
My little PFP is there. I'm gonna open this up and say desktop version. Then I'm gonna click on this thing that I don't know what it is, but I don't need it. All I need is access to this tab that says creatives. I'm gonna click media, so I have to scroll down and find that video. Unfortunately, that video was posted a long time ago, so I have to dig for it.
Okay, so here we go. This is from June 27th. Now, the first thing I want to do, I'm gonna open up this post and I'm gonna change the name to Lazy, or even better, I could call it Lazy Lions Party nyc. There we go. So I've just changed the name for it. Now I want to change the thumbnail, so I'm gonna click Change Thumbnail, and then it's gonna play it.
Now, here's the thing. If I want Gina to be the cover of this video, then I can leave it just like that. I could take a screenshot and then I can click upload and I can load that screenshot up. So if Gina is gonna be the image that I want to cover this, and I can update it later and change it to anything I want.
It is now Just saved that thumbnail. So if I go back to this and I update it now on the cover, we've got Gina as my thumbnail instead of that random text, that is how you update a thumbnail on a previous video on Twitter and it's dope and you should do it. Okay, bye."
That's an impressive way to refresh the appearance of an old video on Twitter! Using the professional tools section in Twitter Ads, you're able to access the 'Creatives' and 'Media' sections to find the video you want to change. By renaming the post and uploading a new screenshot for the thumbnail, you've completely revamped the visual aspect of your post. This can potentially attract new viewers or re-engage those who have seen it before. This technique is an excellent way to give your old content a fresh new look, so don't hesitate to use it when you want to breathe new life into your previous posts.
