Cut out the dead spots

video editing Apr 04, 2023

Editing is sooooo much bigger than just trimming out the dead spots or the unnecessary parts.

If you can cut it out and the video is clearer and more concise without it, cut it!

The second there is some dead space on a video, is the same second people have a chance to lose interest and leave

"  Okay, let's dive into the edit from the last video. I'm just gonna chop out all the dead spots. There was actually a really long dead spot right in the middle, and all I'm gonna do is go through and find every chunk of no noise so I can see the little wave. Form running along the bottom and every time it shows lack of movement, if it's flatlined, that means there's nothing happening.

Uh, that means you could just cut it out. You don't need to have it there. You need to see all those little spikes, the peaks and valleys. So that is what I'm looking for. I could basically visually edit this thing without even listening to it, just based on the fact that I could see where there's those dead spots.

So I'm gonna pull those all out and then afterwards you'll have the video that actually already posted. So you already know what this video looks like, but you probably didn't. Know that there were so many dead spots that were in there that had to be removed for it to sound like it just flowed right?

And that's cuz I spoke in sentences. That's what the last video is about. I'm tired of making videos. Uh, I'm kind of delirious here. I made seven. I don't know either way, I'll see you tomorrow."

Editing out the dead spots in your videos is a great way to maintain a smooth and engaging flow. By visually identifying the flatlined sections where there's no movement in the audio waveform, you can easily cut them out to improve the overall pacing of your video.

It's interesting how you mentioned being able to visually edit the video without even listening to it. This shows the power of visual cues in the editing process. By focusing on the peaks and valleys in the audio waveform, you can efficiently remove the dead spots and create a more dynamic viewing experience for your audience.

It's understandable that making multiple videos in a row can be tiring, and it's impressive that you're able to stay dedicated to the process. By paying attention to the flow and eliminating dead spots, you're ensuring that your content is engaging and enjoyable for your viewers.

Thank you for sharing your editing approach, and I look forward to hearing more from you. Rest well, and see you tomorrow!
