I made a new Vertical Format project file in FCPX.
I just dragged the files to the timeline, and chopped up the parts I shot just for this compilation.
🚨 Spoiler Alert: Editing takes forever.
" Okay, so I'm gonna actually make a brand new project in Final Cut Pro, and I'm gonna start dragging all of those files that we downloaded yesterday. I loaded everything up into here, so I'm just gonna dump everything on the timeline and then I'm gonna start editing now. I think it's gonna take a couple days, so I'm just gonna do kind of the bare bones right now and I'm gonna skip ahead.
To the parts where I know I'm actually speaking to her. And then you're just gonna capture that and all the little pops, big stupid smile. Remember all that? I still remember back spot. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna zoom way in, big stupid smile. Remember all that And you can see it face. So I'm just gonna skip ahead.
All right? And boom, I still remember. I still remember back when we were kids, I was 17 bouncing off the floor everywhere you there actually. And you even time help you fill up those balloons in my bedroom just because you wanted the help cuz you were trying to do something special for me. So you've always gone way outta your way to just make things feel special for other people.
And you've definitely done that for me. It's the end of that one. So. That whole rest of the clip was me talking to you guys, and then it'll just be a more compelling little piece of video. So here we go. All right, and, and you always, Nope, that's sounded way too cheesy. It was way too much emphasis off the bat.
You've done that for me and you know the things that I love, like the blueberry pies that my mom taught you to make, but now you make one video, so we're gonna just, that you do for me. Okay. That was a really short one. I'm gonna shoot a new video. Tell that I'm actually doing something to like, it's all the little things too.
Let's check that out. It's all the little things. It's all the little things too. Like my gosh, I really do tell people all the time that I got to marry my dream girl, and as crazy as it sounds, that same girl has been my Valentine for the last 22 years. Okay, so two years. Okay. Getting closer.
A cute little one to show up on lens and he's just kinda, and he's passed. This one's gonna be harder cause teenager was weird. I'm gonna try to be super awkward. Let's see. Yeah, my boy Aiden. So go for it. So I'm here with, go for it. Melo. Weird. So here, watch. I'll do it like this. All be this here. Watch.
I'll do it like this. Well, you're, watch, watch, watch. I, I.
My Valentine for the last 22 years. I love that you gave me this. Boy. He changed my life. And if I didn't have this, Aiden, I honestly wouldn't at all be the same dude. I wouldn't be the same person in the least. So thank you for this one. All right. Watching the show with you, mom. Getting right back in there.
I like watching the show with you, mom, right back in there. Here we go. Now I'm gonna do something right here. Add some, add some value to the old Twitter video upload of the day. I like watching the show with you, mom. So did you see how he was talking before? I like watching the show with you before you could really see him, Georgia.
And right here at the end, I'm not talking in the least. So thank you for this one. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna just chop this, detach the audio, and I'm gonna actually have the audio start coming in before it really shows him, so that at least when you see him for the first time, his little face is showing.
Thank you for this one. I like watching the show with you, mom, getting in Georgia. Yeah, I wanna spend more later. I love you and thank you for, um, thank you for always taking care of us
and for care of us. You're always taking care of us. Okay. Most of the rest of that one's a joke. Yep. Small man. Two. Little. Okay. So I wonder, and I want you to do, when you're going to did the moon and back so cute. And do what you always tell me. Hey, tell the video. Video. It's just a video and we're gonna give it to mommy for our present.
Okay? Okay. Do it. Look right into the lens. Thank you. Uh, durable. Hello? I love you, mommy. I love you. The back forever and ever. And ever, and ever. Never, never, never. And remember, never and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever and ever. That's pretty good. Okay. Okay, good. All right. And then I had one more. I believe,
say it now. I don't even know where I'm supposed to stop in any of this. You know, I wrote, oh yeah, it's actually the beginning stuff. I don't even know where I'm supposed to. I put is I spend so much time live streaming and making, lets see. That's what I would actually say. I spent a ton of time making, see I messed up.
Damn. I spent a ton of time live streaming and making videos about cartoon monkeys and I,
cause that's what I would actually, you change it on the fly ton of time. How about that? See you, you change it on the fly. Spend a ton of time. Cause that's what I would actually. The first part of what I, I put is I spend so much time live streaming and making video. Okay. I don't even know where I'm supposed to stop in any of this.
I spent a ton of time live streaming and making videos about cartoon monkeys and bowls and bears. One last time ton of, I spent a ton of time, I spent a ton of time live streaming and make making videos about cartoon monkeys and bowls and bears. I did it again. I guess balls and bears is just how I said, never take the time to make a video about, hey, that's the video for today.
But I never take the time
and balls and bears, but I never take the time to make a video about the most valuable thing in my life. Okay, and that's you. So I think that's where I'm gonna leave it for today. Turn that up at the beginning.
I spent a ton of time live streaming and making videos a thing in my life, and that's you. I still remember back when we were kids, I was 17 years old for me and you know, the things that I love. So I, I'll probably do some stuff later. Um, like line up the eyes at the end of one clip to the next, or zoom in or it's a lot of little things.
Do something else. Um, just so you know, editing is not always super exciting. Sometimes it can be kind of boring. Um, but I want you to see the whole behind the scenes take of that because this is going in the course and I want you to have access to the course too. That's it for tonight. I think tomorrow we'll fine tune some stuff and in a day or so I'll be ready to have this thing polished.
And, uh, I can make videos about other stuff, so I'll see you tomorrow."
That sounds like a productive editing session! It's great to see you working on organizing and editing your video project in Final Cut Pro. By trimming and selecting specific parts of the footage where you're speaking or capturing meaningful moments, you're creating a more compelling and focused video.
Fine-tuning and adding little touches like lining up the eyes, zooming in, or making subtle adjustments can enhance the overall visual appeal and storytelling of your video. Remember that editing can sometimes be a bit tedious, but it's an essential part of the creative process.
It's also wonderful that you're planning to include this behind-the-scenes footage in your course. Giving your audience access to your editing process can be insightful and educational. Providing access to your course will allow others to learn and benefit from your experience.
Take your time to polish the video, and once it's complete, you can start working on other video projects. I hope the editing process continues to go well for you, and I wish you the best with your course and future videos.
