When Rode updates the firmware to push sound into the iPhone during calls, Twitter spaces will get that sweet clear audio.
While the RCP1 isn’t exactly perfect, the wired connection is better than the Bluetooth connection on the RCP2 for Twitter spaces. It definitely does not do justice to the fantastic audio it produces in livestreams.
The Rodecaster Pro2 grabs the Twitter Spaces audio of everyone on stage, and pumps it into the Livestream, while at the same time sending the audio from the stream into the Space.
I’ll do more examples of this in action using a Twitter space integrated with Kick, capturing an interview recorded with streamyard
"βCan you host a Twitter space and be live streaming on video on a platform like YouTube or KI or wherever? Yes. Yes, you can. Lately, I've been asked this question quite a few times and I just wanna show you that you can absolutely do that. There are a couple little caveats to that, but I'll cover them and I actually don't think that they're super important unless you are a Twitter spaces maxi in all other things fall to the wayside.
If they do not hit that peak performance for Twitter spaces. And if that's the case, there's actually other really cool things I could show you as well. This is what it sounds like when I'm speaking this far away from the SM seven B on the road Caster Pro one. This is how it sound on the Twitter space.
Now. Bluetooth is being picked up from my SM seven B. It's going into the Roader Pro two, and this is how I sound on the livestream before I show you what I'm doing now. I wanna show you the Road Caster Pro one and a specific little thing on the back of this road Caster Pro One. It's a place to plug in A T R R S cable, which then connects to my phone.
So if I plug this guy into a dongle, now it's ready to plug into my phone. And so I have a hardwired connection from the phone directly to the Roader Pro, which then connects to a nice fancy mic, which may or may not need a little cloud lifter, but that's a separate topic. So here's the thing. I actually don't think that that's a practical solution when all that it gives me access to is connecting a nice crystal clear audio piece to Twitter spaces, unless Twitter spaces is the only thing that I actually care about making content for.
So we are officially on Twitter spaces live right now. I hope nobody pops in to listen to this cuz it's just a test. But this is what it sounds like when I'm speaking this far away from the SM seven B on the road caster Pro one. Uh, with no Cloud lifter, no cloud lifter being used at this time. Now, let's compare that with the Roader Pro two, and then we're gonna talk about why they sound different.
This is a cable called an s c 19. It has u s BBC on one side, but it's audio only and it's got the lightning cable on the other. I'm gonna plug one into the Roader Pro two, the other end into my iPhone, and I'm gonna show you what the sound comes out like. Okay. So this is me talking directly to my iPhone.
I've got the Roader Pro two plugged in. You can tell, cuz normally this is not how I sound. We're just working with a hardwired connection. It sounds crystal clear. It sounds good. I could get really close and quiet and it still sounds nice, but it does not sound that way on Twitter spaces. Let me show you one last test for Twitter spaces.
Okay. So this is the most frustrating of all because I'm talking into my Roader Pro two through the SM seven B. It is run through the u s BBC into Lightning because of the S SC 19 cable. But the only problem is, When I tap on that mic, you should be able to hear it, but you can't cuz you're hearing the built-in mic on the iPhone.
It should not be picking up audio from that mic right now. But because of the firmware currently on the road Caster Pro two, it is not using my hardwired connection just like that Super nice audio that you heard in the video before this So Road. I need you to fix this and once you do the roader Pro two will be by far.
The most superior sound board that does all the things really simply just by connecting Bluetooth or if you really need that crystal clear audio just by connecting the SD 19 cable. Okay, so now I am recording me. Recording me, and I'm recording on my phone, and I have. The road caster Pro two connected via Bluetooth.
And I wanna show that by using TikTok. Just because you don't see the beast, it doesn't mean the beast isn't there. Be careful playing with somebody's kindness, Mike, on the, the right side, the blue little slider here. Just because you don't, that is my Bluetooth connection. Doesn't mean the beast isn't, isn't there?
And then this is my mic. Um, there is any sound that is coming from this particular computer just because you don't see the beast. Whoa. Okay, so that was actually coming from a separate slider on here that brings in the audio for my MacBook, and then this slider that's orange is bringing in the audio from my streaming pc.
This one right here is my main mic, and yeah, there's that. So now the big moment, let's connect Twitter spaces to the Roader Pro two. Compare that back to back with what I showed you before. Okay. So at this point, I'm talking to my computer on a livestream for Streamy Yard. I'm also talking to Twitter spaces directly.
Now, Bluetooth is being picked up from my SM seven B. It's going into the Roader Pro two, and you could tell. Because I don't really sound like this that often. What would be really cool would be if I just sounded as good and crystal clear as I do on the live stream if I sounded that way on the Twitter space, but I don't.
This is how I sound on the Twitter space, and this is how I sound on the live stream. The two things are not the same, and the reason is because I have a hard hardwire connection from the Roader Pro two going into my MacBook Pro. All right? But what I don't have is a hardwire going from the Roader Pro two into my iPhone.
I have a Bluetooth connection from there. So the amount of data that's traveling from the broadcaster Pro two into the MacBook is apparently more, uh, and apparently less going. Through Bluetooth, through the airwaves into Twitter. Either that or Twitter just absolutely sucks. Both of those solutions work for me.
I just don't think it's my fault. Uh, there's a way that we can get crystal clear audio, but we're not. All I know is that the Roader Pro two is amazing for being able to make content and doing all of this stuff at the same time. I don't have to sync anything. All I did was connect my phone to Bluetooth.
It's connected to the Roader Pro two, it's pumping into the live livestream and capturing from this beautiful SM seven B at the same exact time. Um, so. That is all. You can do it. It's super easy if you have a Roader Pro. Two, it would be better if they had the hardwire connection that I showed you. Does not work currently using the SC 19 Cable Road.
Please again, fix that and for everybody else who's wondering. Why I am going in such depth about this, because it's just the best way to make content. And if you're not basic and you wanna do more than just talk on Twitter spaces as a content creator, and I know that was a little poking, uh, then you'll use more than just Twitter spaces to make content.
All right, that is all. I'll see you tomorrow."
It seems like you've explored different audio setups and tested them in various scenarios, including Twitter spaces and live streaming on platforms like YouTube. It's great that you're experimenting and finding ways to enhance the audio quality of your content.
From your description, it appears that the Roader Pro two has been a valuable tool for you in managing your audio setup and connecting different devices. However, you've also encountered some limitations and differences in audio quality between platforms.
While I'm here to provide information and guidance, I'm afraid I don't have control over the specific features or functionalities of the Roader Pro two or other equipment you're using. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance with your audio setup, please let me know, and I'll do my best to help!
