Much better than not getting enough footage.
I often have more than enough time to shoot a ton of video, and end up with less than I want when I’m editing.
Try to get creative and find a bunch of cool angles too
" Shoot too many videos. Something I commonly experience is not shooting enough video when I'm out at a fun event and I don't want to be weird and walk around with my camera too much, but that's stupid. Later, I'll inevitably be looking at my footage and wish I had a whole lot more. So if I could give you any advice, it's pull out your phone or your camera or whatever and start rolling and get a bunch of different shots from a bunch of different angles with a bunch of different people.
Worst case scenario, you have cool footage that you never used. But that's way better than not having enough footage to do anything with. I'll see you tomorrow."
That's an invaluable tip! The more footage you have, the more options you have during the editing process. Different angles, settings, and interactions can all add depth and interest to your video, making it more engaging for your audience. It's easy to feel self-conscious about recording in public, but as you pointed out, having extra footage to work with is far more beneficial than wishing you had more to use later on. In essence, it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Looking forward to your next piece of advice tomorrow.
