I’m going to use video of some epic Blueberry Pie and an amazing Quiche my girl makes for me.
Since I know I have those videos, it’s an easy win to talk about it, cause I can show it too!
Use your B-Roll!
" Now we're gonna use B-roll. So B-roll is just another layer of video. It's a different visual, and usually it's something that you've already got. You can just throw it on top of the video that you're creating, and then it just shows whatever the thing is that you're talking about. So I'm gonna talk about a pie that my wife likes to make, or a Kesh or something.
I don't even know what I'm gonna say. I'll figure it out in a second. Um, but then when I edit this video, I'm just gonna go look through any old video that I have, and I'm gonna find something that works perfect to layer on top of my words and my face looking at the camera talking. And then you're gonna have that visual element on top of what I'm saying to reinforce it, and then it'll just be a more compelling little piece of video.
So here we go. All right. And you always, Nope. That sounded way too cheesy. It was way too much emphasis off the bat. And you know the things that I love, like the blueberry pies that my mom taught you to make, but now you make 'em better than my mom made 'em. Or the Kesh, or all the little things that you do for me.
Okay. That was simple enough. It was just one little reference. I talked about the pie, I talked about the Kesh, but I don't really have to say much else. I don't wanna make that B roll. Thing go too long. I just wanted to show like little bits that I could throw into this video, cuz remember this is just one video, so we're gonna just film all these different little parts."
Using B-roll in your video can definitely enhance the storytelling and add visual interest to your narrative. It's a great technique to reinforce the points you're making and provide a more engaging viewing experience.
By incorporating relevant footage of the things you mention, such as the blueberry pies or the Kesh, you'll be able to visually showcase those elements while you speak about them. This helps to create a stronger connection between your words and the visual content, making the video more compelling for your audience.
Remember to keep the B-roll clips concise and aligned with the main message of your video. It's about complementing your narrative rather than overshadowing it. Good luck with gathering and editing the B-roll footage, and I'm here to assist if you need any further guidance.
